Imagine
that your grown children have died of AIDS, and now you
must raise your beloved grandchildren -- on less than $1
a day. That's the plight of thousands of African grandmothers.
You can help grandmothers feed, clothe and educate their
grandchildren by "adopting"
one.
You
will receive a photo of "your grandma" with her
grandchild(ren), names and ages and information on their
circumstances - personally gathered by "Bibi Jann"
in the village of Mbagala outside the capital city of Dar
es Salaam. Some grandmas are raising as many as nine and
10 grandchildren and the need is great.
Tell
your friends, tell your kids it's what you want for Mother's
Day, birthday, Christmas, Hanukkah - or to celebrate becoming
a grandmother! Or honor your own mom, grandma, nana - or
a friend who is a grandparent - by adopting a grandma now.
This is a gratifying activity to share with your own grandchildren.
